Introducing ACT Sexual Health

ACT for Sexual Health provides busy professionals with a behavioral health intervention to tackle tough topics using a virtual health educator. The self-paced module engages teens with interactive, evidence-based risk behavior assessment and counseling to gather honest data. The ACT works either independently or with the RAAPS assessment, and provides youth with technology-based behavior counseling, education, behavior change strategies,and a risk-reduction plan tailored to the youth’s stage of change.To provide support between visits, an online portal and text messaging options available to help keep teens on the right track.

School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) do important work to improve the lives of underserved teens. But it's a tough job - with limited time and resources (along with the everyday challenges of connecting with at risk teens). Despite these barriers, many SBHCs are achieving significant reductions in adolescent risk behaviors. We'll hear two real-world SBHC case studies from the Individual and State levels. Panelists include Kiel Musser and Alison Green from Three Rivers Health and Sherry Rose from the Michigan Department of Community Health.

A Primary Care Response to Adolescent Sexual Health Risks

Drawing from findings of a recent pilot project, this webinar discovers the benefits of delivering sustainable, replicable sexual health behavioral counseling for at-risk adolescents in the community health center setting — with minimal impact to provider workflow. Participating health centers tested the implementation of a freestanding tablet application and a behavioral counseling intervention incorporating the ACT-SH assessment tool, health center HIT systems, motivational interviewing, and tailored text messaging.
